Get the look...for millions!
Is it me, or are the guides in magazines that offer readers to "get the look" either look nothing like what [insert favorite star's name here] has on or it costs very close to a million bucks?! Affordability and looking great must not be in the same universe for many fashion journalists. And that, my gorgeous readers, is what I call "meh fashion."
Meh fashion encapsulates those outfits for mothers that are not user-friendly, or ignore mothers altogether. If you can't get the bloody thing on without sweating profusely; it's made for a 13 year old; you can't justify the cost because a plain white t-shirt costs upwards of $200; or you need to sit naked, in the mother's room of your job while pumping because you can't get easy access to your boobs without taking your whole outfit off; then you've been a victim of meh fashion.
Fretting over being a victim of meh fashion won't help either. I've been a victim of it too. It's here, in a vain attempt to remind us that we're not in the spotlight any longer. However, I say (or actually write) "f*** that!" Fashion, fashion magazines and the like, work for me and for you! I'm going to go into work tomorrow and tell my boss, after he gives me a project, "No, actually, I've got a better idea of what you want. I am going to change x, y, and z, to fit my goals of this revamped project." That'll go over like a brick.
In an effort to not be a meh fashion victim, I will literally do ANYTHING other than reading fashion magazines. Personally, I love books about WWI or WWII and my favorite author is Erich Maria Remarque. I'm currently reading The Road Back, and when I read the words below, I had forgotten all about someone I didn't know telling me that I didn't fit their standard of beauty.
